Windows Media Player 11 vs Apple iTunes 6
In all honesty, I haven’t used WMP11, sorry. BUT. Let’s face it: they stole the interface and everything else from Apple. AND it’s only in beta.
Mike chooses WMP11:
· Transfer MP3 from PC to media player AND from media player to PC.
· Full media intergration (music, videos, burning) in one player, and all functioning from one menu/nav/control ( I believe you need to jump from iTunes into Quicktime to play videos).
· Customizable and easy to use interface, with auto CD cover discover and display
· Option to automatically fill up an external device to the max with the music of your choosing
There are many more, but you only have a minute
Bad:
· It’s not iTunes, so although it links happily will many mp3 players, there is currently no iPod integration… yet
Again there are more, but for a windows junkie like me, I don’t really care…
Tom chooses iTunes:
· Podcasts
· Simple, easy to use that’s so “Apple”
· Smart playlists
· iPod support
· Autofill
Bad:
· Can’t copy from iPod (but check out Ephpod)

I LOVE YOUR PODCASTS…
You left out one “Bad” about iTunes (which is my preference over WMP 11). The fact that I can’t sync my non-iPod MP3 player with iTunes is so frustrating. iTunes is wonderful, and my Sandisk Sansa e260 is also wonderful, BUT THEY CAN’t COMMUNICATE! The Sansa e200 series gives me the size of an iPod Nano, but it gives me videos, photos, music, FM Radio, expandable memory AND a replaceable battery. The only thing missing is communication with iTunes.
Thanks for your excellent podcasts. Keep them coming.
