Although his by-now-infamous “Tubes speech” has been around for a while, I am again enraged by it today just thinking about it.

On episode #155 of the well-known Podcast411 show, Rob Walch has a hilarious interview with our Internet Idiot of the Week. Although I enjoyed this show, the following show (#156) contains some listener feedback, which is even more idiotic than sen. Stevens (if this is at all possible).

Here are some points I think worth considering:

1. As Rob correctly points out “…sen Stevens is the chairman of a committee that is making decisions about what the future of the Internet will be like. And he has no knowledge on the subject (emp added).” What would people do if someone with absolutely no knowledge was at the head of a similar medical committee? What if someone – like Rob Walch – was put in charge of the Joint Chiefs of Staff?
2. Sen. Stevens has an impact on my web experience as well. Even though I do not live in the US, I can’t vote for (or against) their politicians, that ignoramus now has a say in how the Internet will be shaped for hundreds of millions of non-Americans!

Rob, you asked for contributions from people with opposing views? How about Adam Curry who so publicly talked against net neutrality and confuses the issues as well? Listen to DSC#411 or there abouts.
