In August, the World-Wide Web turned 15. We also had another major anniversary in the past month: the PC turned 25.

That means only 10 short years from the first IBM hit the market to the first HTML pages being served over a TPC/IP based network. Amazing if you think how short that is. The time between the start of the Internet (about 1969) and the Web was more than twice this at about 22 years!

But the scariest of it all is that we are about halfway beteen those two figures at the moment!

Think about it like this: it’s been fifteen years since the invention of the Web. That’s 5 more than between the PC and the Web. It’s only 6 or 7 short years to go before we’re as far from the start of the Web as the start of the Web was from the birth of the Internet.
