I guess a 0.6% ADSL usage over a 23% usage is a large difference.

But don't think that the UK is immune to the faults from here.
There are headline saying upto 8mb speeds being missleading, and I do recall BT adverytising 2Gig caps.

That sounds alot like Telkom.

Choice? Well there is iBurst, Sentech, telkom, MTN and Vodacom... with Neotel coming in March.
Ok, so a little slower than the UK's uptake, but with Tswane getting turned into a Wireless mesh network, and Johannesburg following, our market is opening up.

We are not leading the way, but campared to many, we are not following far behind either.

Look, if I immigrate to Australia, I am sure I will enjoy the extra speed, for less money.. but then again, I may get a Technician on a bad day and Feel right at home thinking Telkom in my head.

Oh, and Broadband users have reached 300 000 in SA. :)

Not at all! But the question is "How much can you watch and use?"

If your ISP limits you to 3GB, or if you are being charged unrealistic amounts, where does that leave the general populace? Remember, you are a netizen at the absolute forfront of technology, is tis true for the rest of SA? I seriously doubt it!

Mike, you might be able to access it, but what about the vast, massive majority of South Africans? How many people has broadband in SA? 100000 or 200000? Out of nearly 50 million? That's what worries me!
