In the UK we have Freeview which is digital terrestrial TV. You need decoder box (from about £40) and then you have about 30+ TV channels and about 50 radio stations. No monthly fee. This dongle does the same for the MAc, but the coolest feature is that it gets incorporated into Apple’s Frontrow, so you can use it with the remote.

I just love it when people apply their brains and come up with useless - but cool - stuff.
